Grades:

Projects – 55%
You will be given some time in class to work on assigned projects, but you will also need to spend time on them outside of class to complete them. All work should be your own. In order to do well on the projects, you will need to do the assigned readings and pay attention in class. Assigned reading should also be done outside of class. Late projects will receive a lower grade.
Tests – 45%
There will be four tests, and perhaps a few quizes. I will provide you with a study guide and we will spend some time in class reviewing for each test. Tests will cover material from class and the assigned readings. Late tests will receive a lower grade.
* You will have the option of doing two extra credit projects to bring up your grade if you need/want.
* Cheating or copying is not allowed and will cause you fail that project or test.
* Progress Reports will be provided twice during the quarter to help you monitor your performance in class.
* Click here for a table showing the letter grade and grade points earned for numeric (percentage) grades for this class.

Attendance and Participation:

You are expected to be in class on time every day, and to participate actively. If you must miss a class for a legitimate reason, you should let me know before hand. You can miss up to 10% of the class hours (about a week’s worth) without it affecting your grade. But, for each hour you miss beyond that, your grade for the quarter will go down .56 (out of a possible 100). You are responsible for making up work you miss while absent within one week of returning to class (and no later than the last test, if you miss work towards the end of the quarter).

Disability Accommodations:

The school provides accommodations, assistance, and adaptive technology to those students with a documented need. Please contact Roxanne Tillman with Disability Support Services at (206) 763-5137 if you think you might need accommodations.
